Buck Lake Road 7/23/09

Postby Rutdggr on Tue Jul 21, 2009 1:46 pm

I have some free time this week after work on Wednesday and Thursday. Do you all mind if I swing out to the ORI Adopt-A-Road section and work alittle? Probably looking at around 7:30 pm Thursday evening...

Cool, I'll head that way either today or tomorrow...

lol I was thinking the same thing about you. I've been spending alot of the summer time with my son out riding 4-wheelers and hanging out on the rivers. Even though it's hot out, it's nice being able to doing things in the daylight until 9:00 pm...

I got a chance to swing by ORI’s Adopt-A-Road section yesterday and enjoyed a nice afternoon walking the road. It wasn't very hot out, and there was a very nice breeze from an approaching storm. At one point, members from the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, which is located on this road, questioned what I was up too. I informed them of ORI’s involvement of caring for the environment, and directed them to the Leon County signs with ORI’s name listed at each end of their road. They thanked me for my work, and mentioned they will be telling more members of their congregation of our work in their neighborhood…

Paperwork to be submitted to Leon County:

Number of Volunteer Hours: 2
Amount of Litter Collected: 5 large bags, assorted house and cars parts
Total Pounds Collected: 250 lbs.

Struts for the trunk, part of an inner fender, and a broken mirror. Look like the inner fender and mirror happened when someone clipped a mailbox. I also found part of a door where someone installed a doggy door, and 3 curtain rods...
